TOP QUESTIONS WE HEAR FROM PATIENTS
What do I need to bring with me?
Please bring your current list of medication and your most recent pair of glasses for distance & reading.
How should I be using my eye drops?
Please use your drops as prescribed by your doctor.
In order to find out whether your drops are working well, it is very important that you remember to use them everyday, including on the day of your appointment.
How long will my appointment take?
This varies greatly between patients. This is especially if we need to dilate your pupils which can take up to 30 minutes after your doctor first sees you. If you then require various investigations, please be prepared to stay for some hours. We hope you will be kept entertained with the patient education / entertainment videos in our waiting area.
When can I get back to work?
Again this will depend if your doctor has dilated your pupils and what your work involves. Please remember to ask for a medical certificate (MC) if you require time off work. Your companion will also be entitled to a time-slip should they require it.
Can I drive after my appointment?
Sometimes your doctor will need to dilate your pupils. This will blur your vision mainly for reading (for 3 to 4 hours), however driving will also be unsafe, both for you and other road-users so please make alternative transportation arrangements.
Can I wear makeup?
Yes you may but if possible please do not use any eye makeup especially if you will be undergoing any eye surgery.
